Native Goldenrod is one that will spread (caution). Timely harvesting of seeds is an easy and responsible way to manage them. However, like other yellow late blooming flowers, their presence helps pollinators by extending their food stores into winter. An interesting read debunks the myth that they cause allergies (some mildly) but yellow flowers are not the main culprit…it’s the wind-launched Ragweed. Refer to “Sneezing?
