One of the native staples with its lush true green foliage and up to two foot purple flower stems in Spring. It serves as a unique drought tolerant ground cover even through the winter when the leaves flatten at ground level and sometimes turn purple being triggered by cold temps. Fascinatingly, these same leaves transition back to green and don’t die.
